about

Thanks go out to those who are listening and, hopefully, enjoying the tracks. Other than that, I don't have much else to say. I, in fact, never know what to say, so more than good with just letting the tracks speak for themselves.

I would like to add, though, that I am not interested in following trends. I do believe I am not the only one who thinks in terms of 'getting out of the boxes and staying out of them'. For me, the idea is every which way, any which way that the creative wind wants to blow in. to me, making music is a journey of discovery, and that entails more than just 'playing it safe', going with whatever seems to be currently trending.

I do use beats, and rhythm, but I do not consider myself to be a 'beat maker'. Hopefully, I can consider myself to be a 'music maker'.

And what is a music maker? In my book, it is one who is willing to 'take risks', to try out new ideas, to simply explore whatever possibilities present themselves. In this case, it might be an instrument, or a group of instruments, and or sounds, textures that are 'just begging to be put together', in usual, or unusual ways.

I have a particular fondness for the old Rhodes Mark 1 Electric Piano, or even the Mark 2, nd other iterations of that instrument, and as such, it tends to make it's way into a lot of tracks, these days especially. I, o course, no longer own a Rhodes of any sort, so am heavily reliant on software equivalents. I have tried many very good ones, but the one now being used primarily is on by a developer, here in Canada, Montreal to be exact, AAS and that one is Lounge Lizard. I do know of another aid to be very good, Keyscapes by Spectrasonics, but I have not tried that one yet. Nonetheless, I continue to find myself reaching for Lounge Lizard, and it never fails to satisfy in terms of having the right vibe.

So there, guess I've said something about the music after all. No matter, the most significant thing, as I have always seen it, is to simply go with whatever idea comes to mind, and to hell with it, if it isn't going to line p with whatever is currently trending.

And that's about it....
